Τὸ σατανικὸ πνεῦμα τῆς λύπης, προκαλεῖ στὸν ἄνθρωπο ἄγχος, ἀγωνία, στενοχώρια, κατάθλιψη καὶ πέσιμο στὰ ἴδια ἁμαρτήματα.
Ἡ δαιμονιώδης λύπη, εἶναι ἀποτέλεσμα καὶ ἔνδειξη ἀμετανοησίας, φρικτοῦ ἐγωισμοῦ, δαιμονίου ποὺ κρύβεται μέσα μας.
Ἀντίθετα, ἡ κατὰ Θεὸν λύπη, ἔρχεται σὰν δροσιά, σὰν συντροφιά, σὰν ἕνα χαμόγελο, σὰν μιὰ ξεκούραση μέσα στὴ ζωή μας καὶ μᾶς δίνει δύναμη, χαρά, κουράγιο.
Νοιώθουμε, σὰν νὰ μὴν κάναμε τίποτε, σὰν νὰ ἀρχίζουμε τώρα τὴν ζωή μας.
Γι' αὐτὸ πρόσεξε, μὴν παραδίδεσαι στὴν ἧττα τῆς λύπης. Ἀφήσου μόνο στὴν κατὰ Θεὸν πνευματικὴ λύπη, ποὺ σημαίνει, στὴν πανήγυρη τῆς καρδιᾶς, ἡ ὁποία εὐφραίνεται γιὰ τὴν μετάνοια καὶ τὴν Θεία ζωή.
The demonic spirit of sorrow brings upon a person anxiety, anguish, distress, depression, and a falling again into the same sins.
Demonic sorrow is both the fruit and the sign of an absence of repentance, of dreadful self-love, and of the demon that lies hidden within us.
Godly sorrow, on the other hand, comes like a gentle dew, like a comforting presence, like a smile, like rest in the midst of our life. It gives us strength, joy, and courage.
We feel as though we have done nothing, as though we are beginning our life anew.
Therefore, take heed: do not surrender yourself to the defeat brought by sorrow. Give yourself only to that spiritual sorrow which is according to God, that is, to the feast of the heart, which rejoices in repentance and in the Divine life.
